I wanted to carry that.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eI start with black pebbled cow leather for the body. Then I paint the meadowlark across the fringe by hand: the yellow breast, the bold black V, and the streaked black-and-white flanks that run down to the tips. After the paint has cured, I cut the fringe strand by strand. The bird breaks apart when you walk and comes back together when you stand still.
