Brown Trout Hatband
For the angler who wears their passion — hand-painted, one fish at a time.
Most leather hatbands are printed. This one is painted.
I hand-paint every Brown Trout Hatband. Every band is an
original. No two are exactly alike, because no two brushstrokes ever are.
The brown trout is one of Montana’s most iconic fish — elusive, beautiful,
and endlessly sought after in the cold clear rivers that run through the
Bridger Mountain Range right outside my Bozeman workshop. This hatband
is my love letter to the fish and the rivers I live alongside.
The band is finished with warm walnut brown elk leather ends and coordinating
deerskin latigo lace — so it ties cleanly and securely onto virtually any hat,
from a classic felt western to a broken-in field hat.
Details:
• Hand-painted Brown Trout design on natural vegetable-tanned leather
• Walnut brown elk leather ends
• Coordinating deerskin latigo lace — ties to fit most hats
• Dimensions: 3/4” tall × 22” long
• Handmade and hand-painted in Bozeman, Montana by Jenny Keller
Care: Protect the painted surface by keeping the band away from
prolonged moisture. If the leather gets wet, allow it to dry naturally
away from heat. A light application of leather conditioner to the elk
leather ends (avoiding the painted surface) will keep the band supple.
Do not scrub or apply solvents near the painted design.
