Julia Crossbody Bag — Hand-Woven Wool & Leather
Julia started with the wool...
I source each pocket panel from hand-weavers in Central Mexico — naturally dyed, hand-loomed in geometric and animal patterns that have been made this way for generations. No two panels are the same. When I find one I love, I build a bag around it.
The leather body is where my workshop takes over. Depending on the version, Julia is made from American bison, moose, or cow leather — each hide hand-selected for color, texture, and character. I embrace the raw edges, the natural variations, the places where the leather wants to do something unexpected. Contrasting thread, decorative spots, and occasional Swarovski crystal details accent the body without competing with the wool.
The result is a bag that carries the fingerprints of two makers — the weaver in Mexico, and me in Bozeman — and looks like nothing else you'll find.
Because it isn't.
